The World Observes International Youth Day

The 12th of August has been set aside as the International Youth Day and supposedly it was the first time it is commemorated in our country. This day is supposed to be used, exploited and celebrated as one of those platforms for inspiration to the youth, the future. This is a day in which the world should pause and listen to us the young men and women as we take advantage of it to publicly make known our interests, views, concerns and demands.

As a component of the Youth, we the BCP Youth League would like to take this chance to exchange a few words with the public particularly the young women and men of this country on few issues that are of importance to the youth.

We at the BCP Youth League fully recognise the power of the youth of this country and that they are a major human resource for development and key agents for economic and political change for a better Botswana. We acknowledge that the youth of Botswana aspire to full participation in the life of their nation, therefore aims to be a source of inspiration both in words and action in pursuit of assisting in such endeavours. We have full confidence that if given the opportunity, enabling platforms, resources and time, the young women and men of this country can reach higher strengths which will result in improved quality of life for them now and in the future.
