The TB fiasco

The Ministry of Health has been closely following the story of Mthandazo Sibanda, which first appeared in the Monitor newspaper on August 04, 2008, followed by the one on the Sunday Standard of August 24-30, 2008. The other papers that wrote about this particular case are the Monitor of August 25, 2008, Mmegi of August 27, 2008 and Midweek Sun of August 2 , 2008.

The Ministry would like to respond to the above articles because there is a considerable amount of fabrication and untruth in them. The articles are not only misleading the nation and the world at large, but are also bringing into disrepute the health care system, as well as tarnishing the human rights record of this country.
