Teacher-student sexual relations

Botswana Secondary School Teachers Union (BOSETU) would like to restate its condemnation on the current spate of teachers' defiling and having sexual relations with students.

BOSETU strongly condemns these practices and see them as grossly unethical and unprofessional behaviour. This is a betrayal of trust that has been bestowed upon the teachers by the Community.

BOSETU calls upon the arm of the law to stretch as far as it can reach to bring perpetrators of such practices to book. While there are cases of female teachers indulging in these practices, male teacher cases seem to be overwhelming.
