Teacher-student relationships: another view

Teachers who turn their students into girlfriends, often have to face the wrath of the nation: the media, the public, the Ministry of Education and Skills Development, their colleagues (teachers) and people from all walks of life.

The way they fume about it always sounds like they wish capital punishment was the penalty for those teachers who do that. Sexual feelings are innate. It is completely natural then that as human beings, we feel sexually attracted to each other. In other words we do not decide that we want to love so and so. We just meet people and it just naturally clicks that we love them. Sexual attraction seems to respect no age, gender, race, tribal or status boundaries:  the young get sexually attracted to the old and vice versa, people of the same sex can feel sexually attracted to each other. Feeling sexually attracted to somebody can be so strong that if one does not let them know of how they feel about them it may lead to a passionately painful heart.

Young women's attraction to older men is not a new phenomenon and it is in every country in the world. Polygamous Batswana men in the past, got married to girls who were in their teens. It seems to be in men's blood that they like the youthfulness in women. Think about King Mswati III of Swaziland, Every year, he chooses a young woman to add to his growing number of wives.  The South African president, Jacob Zuma recently married his third wife who is several years younger than him. Think about the story of former USA president, Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.  Just recently, the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Barlesconi was separated  from his wife for attending a 19 year-old girl's birthday party. Rumour has it that he had bought her an expensive necklace.
