Skewed Development In Botswana

For years some of us have been trying to persuade the Botswana government to consider the western side of the country in developments. I can't believe that our cries are falling on deaf ears even among progressive MPs like Boyce Sebetlela and Robert Molefhabangwe.

The apparent lack of ability, selfishness, and short-sightedness in the current crop of leaders are issues which need remedies. I ask the concerned MPs to stand up and acquire some competency.

All the people who had an opportunity to serve in the National Assembly from Ngamiland, Gantsi and Kgalagadi if they take time to look back can only regret their incompetence. People of Western Botswana have been ignored for years. Former MPs like Bahiti Temane and Lesedi Mothibamele should look back and consider what they have accomplished in the regions they represented. The councillors, MPs and District Commisioners (Bomolaodi) who served in these districts should be ashamed of their work. The current serving MPs from Nhabe, Gantsi and Kgalagadi should consider their silence in the National Assembly as a betrayal of the trust people from their areas have placed upon them.
At one point I suggested that District Commissioners should be people from the district they serve. I don't have any other better reason to explain why developments lack behind in some districts compared to others apart from the poor performance of those in charge (councillors, District Commissioners and MPs). I propose that in addition to public oversight the cabinet should have a map of the whole country before them so that the country can be developed as a whole not the current eastern bias. If one may ask the current cabinet, what major developments have been earmarked for Ngamiland, Gantsi, and Kgalagadi?
