Sidney Pilane's homework

We hear that Sidney Pilane does his homework very well. He tells Dr Raphael Dingalo that he does not set out unless he has prepared very thoroughly.

I cannot resist such people who think before they act, but one may also hasten to add that it depends on the nature of the preparation and for whom and at what level the preparation is sought and given.

For example, in whose interests is the homework? What are the tasks? Who set the tasks? For what purpose? Who loses and what is lost? Who gains and what is to be gained? And what are the standards for assessing performance in that regard? With such questions, preparation before or after you set out should become relative such that you get wrong answers every time you chose the wrong content for the wrong purposes and the wrong forum.
