Serema exhibits defunct reasoning

I always have problems understanding why the executive secretary of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Dr Batlang Comma Serema even bothers to pen opinion pieces and place them in the public domain. This is so because I always find him to be totally uninspiring, be it when he talks or with what he writes. He simply turns me off.

One would normally expect someone who has such a title to be a fountain of knowledge and a stream from which flows wisdom, not the cheap schoolboy stuff that Serema likes feeding us. To be precise, his stuff is just way too pedestrian. Sometimes I find it difficult to bring myself to read or listen to his un-intellectual ramblings.

But his latest piece that appeared in the Mmegi paper of August 7, 2009, which was meant to be a rebuttal to a well put and intelligent analysis of the prevailing political atmosphere, both within the BDP and the entire political spectrum of this country by Michael Dingake, totally exposes Serema's inability to comprehend even the simplest and straight-forward truth. This has left me wondering what Serema's area of expertise is, or is he indeed just one of those traditional doctors (bo nka di latlha) who like putting up crazy adverts, claiming to cure every ailment known to mankind, when they cannot solve their own similar problems?
