Reports about Khama are untrue

Recent reports in the newspapers and some electronic media claimed that our chairman and the vice President Lt. Gen Seretse Khama Ian Khama promised Botsalo Ntuane that in the event he loses in Gaborone West South he will be given a diplomatic post.

It is further claimed that this was done to ensure that Ntuane does not contest the Nata/Gweta seat in order to give way for Olifant Mfa. It is really preposterous for anyone to suggest that Khama could make such a promise. While Ntuane has since refuted these allegations we still are concerned that certain characters that want to damage the reputation of our Party and Government are maliciously continuing to spread this rumour.

We therefore wish to categorically state for the record that there has never been any promise made by Khama or any other member of our party that in the event Ntuane loses the Gaborone West South seat he will be given a diplomatic position. The party also wishes to state that they have all the confidence that Ntuane is a capable politician and has great potential to win the seat he is currently contesting.
