Prostitution is evil

Thank you for affording me this space to air my view. I have read in disbelief about some sections of society who claim to be advocating for the rights of women in this country.

They claim that they are fighting for the rights of women to have prostitution legalized. These people argue that prostitution will empower women and create self-made job opportunities. They further argue that prostitutes in Botswana are marginalized and stigmatized. This is laughable, to say the least, because the very cry they are fighting for would relegate  women into sex object that is meant to gratify sex perverts.

Surprisingly, most of these men who claim to be mouthpiece of these women are not married and do not even understand what marriage is all about. I guess they believe that women were created for sex and nothing more.Their argument that says some married men use these prostitutes and then refuse to pay for the services surrended should not be used as an excuse to legalise prostitution. It should be noted that these "thieves" who rob their wives conjugal rights can not be counted as married men but cheats who deserve no further honour.Poverty should never be used as an excuse because it has been revealed that most of these ladies of the night are mostly people who had decent jobs but were either not happy with salaries or are trying to fix their husbands who for years have been depriving them their sexual gratifications or just simply to earn extra money.
