Productivity Lacks At MoE

Productivity seems to be the most preached concept both in the media and the workplace.

It is a noble idea that if translated into practice could pay dividends not only to individuals but also to organisations, institutions and the country as a whole. Everyone should have the intrinsic urge to perform at his/her maximum most to maximise production and therefore profit. It therefore needs self-driven, motivated, committed people who have passion for work. This entails efficient utilisation of resources such as money, time and motivation of workers.

The chief affront to this noble idea is the Ministry of Education. More often than not you will see clients sitting for hours in front of their offices with no one in those offices. When you are lucky enough to finally get help and seek an explanation you will be told that they were attending a workshop. All of them can't go for a workshop and leave no one to help those seeking assistance. If these workshops and meetings deny the clientele the service they are entitled to, then they are counter-productive. You can imagine all of them attending a workshop on productivity holding hostage the right of the clientele to access the service they desperately need. That workshop would have totally worked against the very purpose it purports to serve. In a worse case scenario, it will take ages for one to have his parallel progression back-pays processed and paid out. When this situation persists, someone could be responsible, those at the helm to be specific should adequately ensure productivity is practically dispensed and realised. This could be difficult if they are not the ones spearheading but eroding the very tenets upon which productivity is based.
