President Khama's magic 4Ds and democratic education

All said and done, President Ian Khama is here and the only rational thing for us to do as a nation is to rally behind him as he continues to advance the democratic principles laid by his predecessors.

It is going to be a challenge, more so at the end of the day his government will have to answer the question; What kind of a legacy are we leaving behind for our future generations?

All worries and speculations put aside regarding President Khama, I think the nation should find some soothing comfort in his statement; "I am a democrat. I have always believed in democratic ideals and joined the military to defend this democracy. I consider myself an integral part of this system of governance that has become entrenched in the life of Batswana" (Mmegi, April 2, 2008). We all await the metamorphosis of those words into a democratic reality more so the contrary will be a democratic curse.
