Monday Meeting

There Will Be No Let-Up!

I deliberately did not name the parties and their leaders with the hope that they will eventually realise the folly of their ways and quietly mend them. But what do I get for my generosity? Ingratitude! However, owing to the need for Afrikans to unite against the Evil Forces, and my belief that Moncho and his party are not yet beyond redemption, I will temper my response to Moncho's tirade with compassion.

Moncho made reference to an article in the Mail & Guardian as prove that President Mugabe is a brutal tyrant. What astonishes is that Moncho, a fairly intelligent man going by his writings, can easily fall for such blatant and amateurish propaganda. The article in question does not even qualify to be a propaganda piece for it fails even the minimum credibility test - it has more holes in it than a sieve. Incidentally, the Mail & Guardian is owned by a Zimbabwean national who was surprisingly sold the newspaper a few years ago by its previous White owners. Possibly as part of the deal and also to appease a largely White advertising clientele, the Mail & Guardian is at the forefront of Western efforts to demonise Robert Mugabe and his government. The newspaper's articles on Zimbabwe are virtually always trash and do not merit a response. Moncho cited the professions and high profile positions of his other sources; but he ought to know that academic qualifications and professional achievements do not necessarily equate with integrity and honesty. Obviously the citation was intended to impress and therefore bolster the credibility of his sources, which meant that Moncho himself does not have much confidence in their credibility. Therefore, a rebuttal of comments allegedly made by these sources is unnecessary. As for his allegations against the BDP, the party can best address them. However, the allegations give rise to a number of questions. If it was not proper, as Moncho seems to imply, for the BDP to have received support from the British prior to Independence, why should it be proper today for his party to receive similar assistance from Tony Blair's Labour Party and who knows who else? Does his shrill protest point to a guilt that is gnawing at his conscience? According to him, British support for the BDP was meant to counter the growing influence of the leftist BPP. Now, what is in it for Tony Blair when he bankrolls Moncho's party? It cannot be out of love - it was to make Moncho's party an appendage to the MDC (a party established by the West to advance a neo-colonialist agenda in Zimbabwe).  This is the reason why the comments I made about his party seven months ago did not elicit a reaction from Moncho at the time, until now, when Morgan Tsvangirai is being exposed as nothing more than a ruthless ruffian. Moncho's party and the MDC are joined at the hip - they are Siamese twins; an attack on Tsvangirai torments Moncho and his party leadership, hence his tirade against me. Unfortunately for him and his ilk, there will be no let-up on Monday Meeting's mission to tell the truth about the  in Zimbabwe. It is very tragic when, for financial gain, Afrikans such as Moncho and the leadership of his party are quick to jump to the defence of a despotic thug like Tsvangirai and his henchmen but "see no evil and hear no evil" when these hooligans embark on orgies of violence in their treacherous quest to destabilise Zimbabwe as directed by their imperialist backers.

Depression is real; let's take care of our mental health

It is not uncommon in this part of the world for parents to actually punish their children when they show signs of depression associating it with issues of indiscipline, and as a result, the poor child will be lashed or given some kind of punishment. We have had many suicide cases in the country and sadly some of the cases included children and young adults. We need to start looking into issues of mental health with the seriousness it...
