Moeding College Debacle

The Botswana National Youth Council condemns in the strongest terms possible the behaviour of the Moeding College Form 5 students who have been engaged in the uncivilised acts of bullying their fellow students in the name of initiating them to the senior school.

Such behaviour stands parallel to our national vision of a just and caring nation and should be condemned and deterred immediately in every possible way, as it does not only affect the victimised students but breeds an undesirable element of societal decay if it is allowed to spawn year after year.

The BNYC commends the headmaster of Moeding College Marcos Maedza for the responsiveness he showed in dealing with the matter. The Ministry of Education is also recognised for the support it gave to the school administration to punish the perpetrators of these dehumanising deeds.
