Magistrates Have To Be Impartial

This must be noted for it has far reaching consequences.

A woman who conceives an illegitimate child has nothing to worry about. In fact, a woman is free to have five children with different men, then take the supposedly fathers to the maintenance court and be sure to get a monthly salary of approximately P5,000 for 18 years.

I have not received a maintenance summons before but have seen my friends being subjected to mental anguish at the instance of a maintenance order. I acknowledge that some fathers can neglect their children but what is crucial for my discussion is that a child has got the right to be maintained by both parents.
