Localisation at Tati Mine/BMR is questionable

There is no localisation at the above named companies. Foreigners are still preferred over locals.

Circulating rumour indicate that a number of foreigners from Bendura Mine in Zimbabwe are waiting at the border to occupy senior posts which they have been promised by their counter parts (ex Bendura workers) working at the Tati and BMR.

Most of these workers when they come to Botswana are given senior posts at the expense of locals who will be put in place as understudies even if they have been holding lower position for more than two years, and just when they are hopeful that they will be promoted to those senior posts, a foreigner will be brought along. These posts include among others instrument technicians, process developers, system analysts and laboratory personnel.
