Khama is plagiarising badly

It is no doubt that the new administration of Seretse Khama Ian Khama has adopted agricultural strategies that have traditionally been associated with old communist Russia.

What is unclear is whether what appears to be a dramatic ideological shift to the extreme left is a deliberate and conscious decision or accidental.

In the 1920s the then Soviet Union embarked on an ambitious industrialisation program.  Agricultural production had to be transformed to feed a growing industrial workforce and attract foreign currency to acquire imported machinery. To meet a growing demand for food the Marxist - Leninist government came up with a policy of collectivisation or farming communes. Farmers were forced to form some sort of farming cooperatives to pool resources and increase production. The idea was also to eliminate a class of rich farmers called the Kulaks. The policy of collectivisation backfired resulting in the Great 1932-1933 Famine.
