It's touch and go down South!

A question on many people's lips is, "Is there a crisis in South Africa, as a result of Thabo Mbeki's recall and resignation?" Jacob Zuma, pooh-poohs any crisis situation. He avers a crisis would exist if the constitution of the republic had been breached. Is a crisis only a crisis if it has a constitutional element?

The question is controversial, when you listen to those who say Mbeki was denied the principle of natural justice. The NEC recalled Mbeki without hearing his side. The Republic of South Africa constitution, one of the best constitutions in the world would not be so highly rated if it denied its citizens the principle of natural justice. Moeletsi Mbeki, Thabo's brother, his unflinching critic while he was in office, said he had nothing against his brother's recall from office, in terms of the ANC constitution. He is infuriated by how it was done, prompting him to equate it to a 'kangaroo court.'
