It is the people's victory

Politicians never fail to amuse with their actions and words, which most of the time are one-liners littered with cliches.

On rare occasions, they attempt to be witty, only to reflect their questionable state-of-mind and shallow thinking. If one goes through the newspapers over the past three months, there would be enough for right-thinking Batswana to ask whether they are dealing with honourable men and women or the right people in the wrong places.

Before that, confessions have to be made before this critique even starts. There are no hidden agendas. No axe to grind on a personal level; no spitting of venom at individuals. The truth is, these musings are aimed at informing the public on the goings-on in society, and more importantly, awakening the government machinery to meet the needs and expectations of the general public. Nothing more, nothing less. No one has anything to feel threatened about or intimidated by the choice of terminology.
