Is Rowe Undermining Local Journalists?

Reports that the national football coach, Colwyn Rowe is snubbing the local media are unfortunate. The coach seems to be under the impression that he does not need the media because according to him the nation is behind him. He fails to understand that it is the same media that acts as an umbilical cord between him and the nation.

I listened to him last recently on Radio Botswana's Legae la Metshameko displaying all the arrogance and disgust one can think of. He flatly refused to answer questions fielded by journalists, citing negative reporting. After every game, Rowe shuns cameras and run for his dear life. This makes me wonder if indeed it is the purported negative reporting that Rowe runs away from or there are some other underlying factors such as racism that come into play.

I know this is quite in the extreme but listen to this, 'Journalists in this country blah blah blah.' As long as Rowe cannot substantiate such statements with evidence and comparison with the countries he has in mind, I would conclude that the man undermines journalists of this country simply because they are of this country.
