GS-26 congratulates new BDP CC

The BDP as an institution has a long and proud history of producing leadership of the highest pedigree for the administration and governance of itself as an entity and of the Republic of Botswana. The former being done through periodic democratic congress elections such as the ones held over this year's president's day holidays.

It is therefore all the more relevant and fitting that this particular defining moment in the history of the party be a subject of celebration for democrats and wellwishers within and without the boundaries of this great Republic. Our special commitment to democracy and maturation into a modern and progressive party is evident. The naysayers have been humbled.

Special commendation must go to all women contenders who fared reasonably well against their male counterparts. What we now have is adequate proof that BDP women have the capacity and the potential to take up more meaningful roles in the party. In the BDP, no one wins or loses an election, only the party emerges the winner.
