The last week's controversial incident in which Harry Mothei and his political clowns from the ruling Botswana Democratic Party ousted comrade Nelson Ramaotwana from the Gaborone City Council's mayoral seat is a clear indication that his loyalty to the Botswana National Front is questionable.

It is shocking for Mothei to connive with our political enemies only to coup his fellow comrade. Disappointingly, Ramaotwana's name was constantly agreed at the BNF councillors caucus as the suitable one for the position. So what Mothei and another two BNF councillors did was really unacceptable. As a long time BNF activist who always speaks so vigorously about the dangers of both the BDP and the BCP, I would like to fearlessly call upon the BNF leadership to expel Mothei from the political party. Failure to take a harsh action against Mothei, Matseka and Phaladi would be a political blunder.
