England Might Not Qualify For 2010 World Cup

On November 21, the English soccer team walked into the Wembley Stadium with one thing in mind, to get a draw and qualify for Euro 2008. Things didn't work according to plan as they were completely humiliated by the Croatians.

The loss was so devastating and the Football Association sacked their national team manager, Steve McClaren. Perhaps it was a good move perhaps not, who knows England's loss poses a huge threat to our country's Botswana plans for 2010.

Few weeks after it was announced that South Africa will become the first African country to host the Word Cup, a delegation from the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism publicly announced their plans to make Botswana a training camp for some teams taking part in the World Cup. The large English support base is clearly seen as a major boost for our country's economy especially for the tourism sector. Ever since then it seems like the attention has been on England alone. I personally have never heard other countries being mentioned.
