Ebullient Khama Tells Victory Rally Of Fifth 'D'

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) president Ian Khama on Sunday celebrated his election victory at one of the poorest quarters in the city, Old Naledi, where he declared he was adding a Fifth 'D' for Delivery to his famous Four 'Ds'.

On April 1 last year when he was sworn-in as President, Khama said his administration would be anchored on a roadmap of Four Ds standing for Democracy, Development Discipline and Dignity.

The BDP leader begins his first five-year term as the head of a government elected under his leadership. Addressing a cheering victory rally of massive crowds clad in signature BDP red, Khama confessed that he did not enjoy the first 18 months of his presidency because even some members of his party had questioned the provision for automatic succession in the Constitution of Botswana by means of which he rose to highest office in the land.
