Double Speak Smacks Of Hypocrisy

Why is it that opposition parties like to complain about our country's reliance on other countries only for them to do likewise? Take for example, the Leader of the Opposition, Otsweletse Moupo.

It has reported in Mmegi dated that while launching Moeti Mohwasa in Selebi Phikwe recently, Moupo expressed worry that the country's economy has been affected by the world economic recession because it was never diversified and is under the control of the foreign governments. He was reported to have said "In the BNF we believe that we cannot have a country run by foreign states."

While I entirely agree with him, I am disappointed that Moupo's party would hire a band all the way from South Africa to come and perform here. It is reported that the BNF launched Mohwasa in style by the brass band entertainment brought in all the way from South Africa. What message are you sending to Batswana? Is it okay for your party to engage companies from South Africa, but the country should not do likewise? What about artists in Botswana? Are they not good enough? The money paid to the South African band should have been used to pay a local group. A few years back when the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) was launched in the country, their flags were printed in South Africa and not locally. All this double speak smacks of hypocrisy! Guys you must be seen to be walking the talk.
