Dental therapists-the misery and shame continue

Dental Therapists are the core of the Oral Health Division in Botswana, without them there would not be any Dentistry.

It is disheartening to see the Government treating them with such malice by ignoring to recognise them. The Oral Health Consultant, a Dentist by profession who heads the Oral Health Division in Botswana is not doing her best to make sure the Government accords Dental Therapists all the privileges and benefits of Public employees.

Examples are the recent Scarce Skills and Multiple Grading Systems introduced by Government recently. There are only less than 100 Dental Therapists in the whole of Botswana.
