Bye bye democracy! Welcome dictatorship: a rejoinder

The BCP Vice President, Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang writes in Mmegi: "Six months ago, I tried to challenge those in the know to shed some light on what the Khama presidency will bring for our country. None was forthcoming".

I cannot understand nor comprehend the assertion that no one shed light because this is a very simple and straightforward matter. Non-the-less I shall endeavor to soothe Dr Gobotswang's agony: Democracy, Development, Self-Reliance and Unity as a basis for Kagisanyo, Dr Gobotswang, as enshrined in the BDP constitution. Vice President Seretse Khama Ian Khama is the BDP Chairperson and by virtue and in person he subscribes fully and holds dear to these principles. In the BDP, we do not subscribe to the doctrine and dogma "Koma ke Party, Party ke Koma". The 4 principles above are key determinants and the Party is 'holier than thou'.

Having now answered and excited Dr Gobotswang, we (together with him) can turn to ignore his body text because as he rightly pointed out, his was based on speculation. We are also now agreed that the title and summary conclusion which read in part, "Bye, bye democracy! Welcome dictatorship" are wanting and misguided as the body text used to support the said, as indicated earlier, are based on speculation.
