Botswana democracy not tested!

One of the core principles of Greek City democracy was periodic rotation of government offices. Officials who performed below expectations were liable to recall before term end; more important, those who were elected for a definite period were by rule to rotate with others when their term expired.

Administrators were ineligible for re-election. Were the Greek system of democracy applicable in Botswana, it would mean, the elected in the presidency, Parliament, councils, would serve the maximum of five years and give way to a fresh batch of representatives. Such system prioritises new brooms against old brooms. There are pros and cons in both the new and the old.
