Let me start off by wishing you well in the New Year. We are writing this letter to thank you for the coverage that you granted us last year.

It was through you that we were able to reach out to the nation and for this we are grateful. One cannot imagine what the situation would have been if you had not given us coverage. This explains why the media is so important in our society, particularly a society that claims to be democratic.

There have been differences of opinion in some cases on the objectivity of certain stories that you covered about us. This is inevitable in any normal functioning relationship, but what is important, we believe, is to respect your right to write about us in a fair and balanced way. Our position is that you write or cover events and do not create them. All that we always request is that we be given an opportunity to always state our side of the story.
