Be proud of your culture

This multi talented cultural group was established in 2005, most of its performers used to dance for Ditholwana Traditional Group where they were groomed for more than 12 years.

That's where the performers gradually developed from and grew into Mabutswa Pele - the name of the group. The name translates to mean elderly people who graduated from childhood and matured to adulthood.

It is an undisputed fact that although Mabutswa Pele is newly branded their singing and dancing is very old and professional. In April 2005 the group gained autonomy from Ditholwana traditional Group and the name "Mabutswa Pele Cultural Troupe" was then given to the group. The group takes pride in the fact that it is setting the pace in a successful process of transforming traditional song and dance in as far as performing arts are concerned. The group embraces most, if not all, of Botswana's ethnic dance and music cultures, it also does traditional choirs. Its mission is to become Botswana's leading group with a strong local and international presence.
