BDP emotionally unfit for re-election

Of late, the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Secretary for Publicity and Culture Sub-committee, MacDonald Peloetletse, has been out of order, behaving like a puppy barking without purpose, with his uncoordinated ramblings and desultory writings in the media.

We wish to take issue with his recent article, which was meant to be a rebuttal to one written by Botswana Congress Party (BCP), Vice President Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang. In his article, Peloetletse writes thus, "the phony press release by Dr Kesitegile Gobotswang about the BDP is very rich indeed, coming as it does from the BCP. He goes on to say that "the BCP leadership is an integral part of that shameful and disgraceful episode in Palapye in 1998".

One has to wonder if there is any incidence which could be more shameful and disgraceful than the current BDP soap opera. The party is not even ashamed of hanging its odious and dirty linen in public. For the first time in the history of this nation, a sitting president has been dragged to the courts by the Secretary General of his own party to answer for irrational decisions. This has caused shame not only to this nation but also to the whole region and indeed, the rest of Africa. Scores of reasonable BDP members, minus off course for obvious reasons, Peloetletse and his club of unpatriotic opportunists, have expressed utter disdain and are determined to fix the situation before it gets worse and help protect our now fragile democracy.
