BCP youth league must produce evidence against Nkate

For sometime now the opposition parties' youth leagues have been in the media and in political freedom squares calling on for the resignation of the Minister of Education and Skills Development Honourable Jacob Nkate from the Cabinet.

The latest call was made at a media briefing by the BCPYL according to The Botswana Guardian (20/02/09). Democratic Party (BDP) would like to challenge the BCPYL on a number of issues in defence of Honourable. Nkate who is also the secretary General of the BDP.

First of all, it must be noted that the party has a lot of confidence and trust in Honourable Nkate as a Minister because ever since he was appointed to this difficult Ministry, Nkate has managed to run it well in order to ensure that the education policies of this country are implemented. Instead of peddling lies and defamatory accusations against Nkate, the BCPYL must congratulate Nkate for increasing access to tertiary institutions. This was done by government's decision to sponsor students studying at local tertiary institutions. This is done in line with the BDP's policy of giving all Batswana access to education.
