ANC race: The other side of the coin

The contest for president of the ruling ANC party created enormous heat in South Africa's politics with anxiety nationwide, even beyond the borders.

Meanwhile, just weeks before the election of a new president in the town of Polokwane between 16 and 20 September 2007, the majority of ANC-led provinces and ANC members in the provinces have expressed their support for ANC deputy president, Jacob Zuma.

It's on record, the alliance partners - the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), the South African Communist Party (SACP), the ANC Youth League (ANCYL) and the ANC Women's League (ANCWL) - chose Jacob Zuma as their next president.
