An open letter to President Khama

I congratulate you, your Excellency, Ian Khama Seretse Khama, on your recent inauguration as 4th president of the Republic of Botswana. I believe you are fully aware that you have just presided over a country that God loves so much.

I also believe you are aware that your appointment as President of Botswana is not of your own might, or power. or that of man, but of God. You have been appointed to rule in accordance with God's will, in righteousness and in truth. To advance God's agenda for Botswana and its people at this crucial time in his calendar. It is not difficult for a discerning mind to know that your 4 D governance strategy was not crafted from human mind, but from God's. Your Excellency, you have a very tough assignment ahead of you, of taking this nation to another level - a level not yet perceived in people's minds. God preserved you for this time. Leadership sir, is not necessarily about intellect or scholarly prowess, but rather about wisdom. I pray that God will give you the wisdom of Solomon and that of your late father, Sir Seretse Khama, to succeed in your assignment.

Now, coming down to earth! Mr. President, your inauguration speech was indeed very inspiring, to the muzzling of your detractors lips. It is now up to you to ensure that these beautiful words become alive. That they translate into tangible output that the physical eye can see and the physical tongue can taste. You seem to have the characteristics needed to deliver on this - your inner conviction, commitment, strategy, patriotism, boldness and also of the right generation - my generation. This is a generation of seasoned people who are neither too young nor inexperienced, nor too old to cope with the dynamics of the volatile global political, economic and social trends. You have no marital distractions, and have the training to cope with stressful situations that civilians need wives to help them cope with. By this I am not saying that you should not marry. But, if you do not want to, it is not a sin. The bible gives us a choice in this regard, and whatever choice you make is acceptable to God. Do not be misled by false prophets.
