Access roads policy connects more villages

Reference is made to an article on page 5 of Mmegi newspaper of 15 June 2007, entitled "New Roads policy disconnects villages", whose meaning, purpose and intention is a direct opposite of Government's intention of the Access Roads Policy which was revised on 16 August 2004.

The underlying principle of the Access roads policy is to connect more and more villages to the public highway system.

The Minister of Works and Transport Ms. Lesego E. Motsumi has been explaining the Access Roads Policy in the country, specifically at full Council meetings on the following dates:
* North East District Council on  Friday 26 January 2007 at Masunga
* Southern District Council on Thursday 24 May 2007 at Kanye
* Kgalagadi District Council on Tuesday 05 June 2007 in Tshabong
