Abolish school fees immediately

With the highest sense of thought, having considered the effects of forced payments of school fees by government, we as Botswana Congress Party (BCP) Youth League found it compelling to raise our steadfast position in the interest of the youth and the future of this country.

As an auxiliary organ of the party, BCP, which is largely supported by the young generation of the country, we find it opportune to clearly state that as a youth conscious limb, we advocate for free education-Education for all, therefore we barefacedly call upon the BDP government to put an end to  payment of school fees with immediate effect.

Guided by our founding principles and social democratic values at the BCP, we view the government's decision to introduce unaffordable school fees as a typical example of government's insensitivity and cruelty to our parents and fellow youth.
With commitment and obligation to defend the oppressed youth, we argue that it is not necessary to force Batswana to pay school fees and we see the government's rigid stance on this issue as a way of perpetrating the merciless circle of poverty to many Batswana.
