We are all concerned about this strike

Please allow me to express my concern on the current crisis taking place in Botswana due to the ongoing public servants strike. It is my belief that all Batswana who care about their country must be concerned about this state of affairs except the government of course which seems to have adopted a careless attitude.

To us parents who have children doing form four and other parents who have children in other classes, this is a bitter pill to swallow. When the form fours reported for school after the start of the first term, we were made to pay for the first term on top of the second term that had just started although the kids were not in class for the whole of first term, so it was money down the drain and so are the second term fees.

As parents we were prepared to sacrifice our hard earned little resources to pay for the education of our children, now that is just a dream they would never realize thanks to the stubborn government who does not care about the welfare of it's employees.  The government is talking about being broke and yet it finds it ridiculous when its employees are saying they are broke and can no longer afford to feed their dependents.
