They should name a street after me

In every great nation I have visited, they name their streets after their great leaders. In South Africa, it will be Mbeki Close, Mandela Drive, and Sisulu Drive and so on.

There are many such streets named after other South African leaders, the same is also true of China where I saw a street named after Sun Tzu, the author of The Art Of War, a great book that has seen the rise and fall of many a nation and organisation.

However walking around Gaborone I am deeply shocked by the names of streets. We get streets with names like, Ntseane Close meaning lizard. The funniest is Mmamanthwane Drive or Bat Drive in the Queen's vernacular. This is deeply disturbing in nature as it implies that in Botswana our animals have more significance than us people. I still recall vividly some Zimbabwean guy once remarked, "If a country has more goats than people, then it tends to suffer from leadership deficiency" and upon seeing the street names in Botswana, one cannot blame me for wondering about the truth in that statement.
