The dilemma of the English teacher

Please find a letter that interrogates dilemma of an English teacher. The current invigilation crisis has put English teachers at cross roads.

While the teacher unions have encouraged its members not to take part in the invigilations, English teachers have a dilemma as to whether they should read a Listening passage 9 (which is part of invigilation) for their students or not betray the struggle.

The Form 3 final examinations start in earnest on Monday 25 amid an ongoing fight by the teachers unions who had urged their members not to take part in the invigilations citing poor remunerations by the Botswana Examinations Council  among other issues. Whereas many teachers have resignedly accepted the fact that invigilation can  be done by different personnel some from  outside the teaching fraternity, it is with subjects like English where many teachers find themselves in the horns of a dilemma.
