OP responds to The Monitor article

The chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Governance and Oversight, Robert Masitara would like to categorically deny allegations purported by your newspaper that his Committee is being blocked from auditing the office of the President as it is alleged it has no powers to do so.
Further, he denies any knowledge of the purported differences between his committee and the OP, let alone the holding of any weekend meeting between the said two. In fact, he deems the story/article as somewhat biased and containing outright inaccuracies more so that it never sought his views nor those of the other committee members, let alone those of the Speaker and the Clerk of the National Assembly before going to print.
