Minister Matambo should resign

I have been following debates surrounding Minister Kenneth Matambo's corruption charge. I am tempted to throw my weight behind those calling for his sudden resignation.

I understand the charge emanates from deals he entered into whilst serving Botswana Development Corporation.

(BDC). He apparently failed to disclose his interests in a company that BDC transacted with. The merits of the case are yet to be tested in court. He is as a result innocent until proven otherwise. Be that as it may, I submit that ethically, the most honourable thing for the Minister to do is to resign in order for him to preserve the good name of his highly placed public office. The position he holds is critical and cannot afford to attract adverse publicity. The public confidence in the office is essential. Needless to say, the office he holds controls and takes care of our public purse.
