Meditations on the new beginning

I have had, over the past year, the responsibility to lead an initiative to crystallize the ideas, ideals and hopes of our party into a document that would form our policy position in respect to the future of our nation.

I am grateful for this very high privilege, conferred upon me by our great movement, and for which I hope I have not let our movement down.

During this time, along with our team, we have visited many homesteads, and met members of the BMD, independent voters, members of other parties, and apolitical citizens.  We have received, read and studied many submissions.  Allow me to borrow the words of a leader who shared these sentiments about his people, that "there are no words to express the extraordinary strength and character of this breed of people we call 'citizens', they are concerned, yes, but they are not frightened.  They are disturbed but they are not dismayed. They are the type of people that say 'we have it in our power to begin the world over again'."
