To my dear friend and Colleague Tshireletso Motlogelwa. I would like to engage you on issues you have raised in the article titled "La bona le bana ba bone" that featured in the Mmegi edition of October 12th. First accept my belated congratulations on your recent appointment to the editorship of your esteemed paper and already it is proving that your elevation was a deserved reward.

I have read your article with great care and interest and somehow I felt that issues you put before the readership are so fundamental and as such cannot be allowed to go unchallenged. Let me first declare my interests so that you may appreciate where I am coming from. I engage you as a democrat, a firm believer in a republican system of government and above all as a concerned patriotic Motswana. I hold the view that in this age, we cannot entertain a system of hereditary power in a republic and that whoever seeks political office must be subjected to an election process.
