Not only did they accept western propaganda but they also villified Gaddafi. They will take long to understand the West's monkey tricks. Why did the West attack Libya? On February 16, 2009, Gaddafi called on Libyans to back his proposal to dismantle the government and distribute the oil wealth directly to the five million inhabitants of that country.
However, his plan to deliver oil revenues directly to the Libyan people met with opposition by senior officials who could lose their jobs due to a parallel plan by Gaddafi to rid the state of corruption. Don't we know that a move towards genuine socialism or communism (not as espoused by the SACP) the US regard as a "threat to world peace"? I can mention three leaders at the top of my head who were overthrown and/or assassinated by the US government because they embarked on nationilisation. They are Mossadegh of Iran in 1953, Arbenz Guzman of Guatamala in 1954 and Salvatore Allende of Chile in 1973 who was ultimately assassinate. The Australian Labour government of Whitlam was toppled in 1972.
