Botswana govt is unbelievable

We have no idea why anyone should believe government statements about the CKGR issue.

It lied about the forced nature of the evictions in 2002, it put police into its relocation camps in 2005 to stop the Bushmen returning home, firing on them with baton rounds, it destroyed their water reserves and knocked out the borehole inside the reserve.

It now falsely claims that 'consultations in the matter with the affected communities are still ongoing.'  Even if this were true, the fact is that it is eight years since the evictions and three years since these supposed 'consultations' started. Considering World War Two lasted only six years and the negotiations leading to Botswana Independence took only about five, this would be comic, if it wasn't the tragedy it continues to be.
