BNF congratulates Zebras

The Botswana National Front would like to join the rest of the nation in congratulating the Zebras for being the first team to qualify for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2012.

Though the team will be making its maiden appearance in the continental soccer tournament, its performance so far has raised the country's flag high and made the world turn and take note of us as a football nation.

From now onwards, International scouts will not overlook us. This has opened up opportunities for the current team players and the future ones. Football has the potential of helping to diversify our economy and attract foreign currency. Taken seriously, sports can develop into a very big sector that can create employment opportunities and economically empower our people. It can also help market the country. Because of these reasons, it has to be taken seriously and investment should be made on it.
