BAA should come clean

University of Botswana Athletics Club wishes to comment on the latest development pertaining to the performance of team Botswana at the just ended 10th Africa Junior Championships. We also want to express our disappointment to the media reports and a war of words between the association and their spokesperson Glody Dube.

The BAA is currently attracting negative publicity and as clubs we need to be appraised on what the Executive Committee has been doing to mitigate the situation. We have also learnt that member(s) of the Executive Committee have been giving media interviews against each other and as such we need to understand the position of the association with regard to this.

Botswana won only eight medals - a silver and seven bronze - and finished a disappointing 14th  out of 25 participating countries in the championships. This performance has a lot of implications on our sports development and I want to take this opportunity to urge the office to work extra harder.
