An open letter to Competition Authority Ceo

I am writing to you in my personal capacity as a resident of Gaborone regarding what I see as several key matters of concern to the majority of the residents of Gaborone and the citizens of Botswana. There are, in my opinion, several matters of concern regarding impediments to the proper operation of competitive markets here in Botswana that you may wish to consider.

*Lease agreement between Anchor Tenant and Landlord of a major shopping mall for the Lease of Supermarket Space.

You will find attached an agreement between an unnamed South African supermarket and the landlord for a property in the North of Gaborone (the original copy is available at my office should your office require copies). I believe that the provisions of the lease agreement to be in violation, amongst other provisions, of section 27(1) of the Competition Act 2009. It would appear that these provisions limit the ability of the landlord to act in a competitive manner. In particular, the provisions of article of the contract states, amongst other things, that:
