BLLAHWU members with other members of the public sector unions during the mother of all strike PIC: KAGISO ONKATSWITSE

Allow me to make a submission pertaining to trade union aristocracy which seems to be detrimental to the life of unions. In my article I will be precisely pointing at BLLAHWU since it is the union that I know most in terms of running its affairs.

First of all let me state that I am very match nostalgic about BULGSA before it metamorphosed into what it is today. During our days in BULGSA the voice of the members where taken into serious consideration more than anything else unlike now. We believed in the maxim vox populai voxi dei (voice of the people is the voice of God). Minutes where not doctored to suit the interests of the Central Committee. Leaders by then where people of dignity. The likes of Pius Mokgwathi, Edmond Moabi, Dr G Lebitsa, Alice Kopi, David Kanje just to mention a few where leaders of great repute who would not stoop so low and doctor minutes for their personal interest.

I pay homage to you my comrades. Constitutional amendments and other motions use to come mostly from lower structures not from the central committee because it was people centered union, but since you have left we see a contradiction of what you were doing.
