The Telegraph Newspaper of Wednesday June 29, 2016 carried a headline story entitled, “UDC Members Rattled by BCP Initiated ‘Terms of Reference’”.

The article makes reference to the Terms of Reference which have allegedly been drawn up by the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) to guide the opposition talks between the BCP and Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).

We wish to place it on record that both the BCP and UDC (the negotiating partners) are not aware of any terms of reference proposed by the BCP. Thus, neither the BCP nor the UDC have any proposed terms of reference nor has any of them, received from another, any such terms.
