Zimbo charged with murder of compatriot

FRANCISTOWN: A Zimbabwean murder suspect, who allegedly killed his compatriot during a drinking spree over the weekend, has been denied bail.

The 24-year old Gibson Shumba alias Satane of Gweru, Zimbabwe, is accused of the murder of Ruregarero Bhangu on April 26, 2008 at Area 9 in Monarch. It is alleged that Shumba stabbed the deceased during a Chibuku beer binge after a misunderstanding.

Shumba allegedly ran away after the incident, only to learn the following day that his friend had died. He took to the hills to hide and was arrested near Nyangabgwe Hill the same day.
